David Hamilton Koch was born on May 3, 1940 in Wichita Kansas, America to Mary and Fred Koch. He attended Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and continued to the prestigious MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). He graduated from MIT in 1962 earning a bachelor degree and in 1963 for a master degree in chemical engineering. Koch joined Koch Industries in 1970 and became its president nine years later in 1979.
Koch has been heavily involved in politics. He ran for Libertarian Party’s vice president in 1980. In his campaign, he promised minimum-wage laws, subsidies for business and agriculture, and corporate taxes. He withdrew his support for Libertarian Party and became a Republican since 1984 when the Party decided to campaign for all taxes elimination.
